About Us

Animalthread is a small blog run by two people who just really enjoy learning about animals. We are not zoologists, vets, researchers (well, yes but not animal researchers… reminds me of “Is there any doctor here?” meme ), or wildlife experts. We are just animal enthusiasts who love watching animal videos, reading about wildlife, and trying to figure out why animals do the things they do.

We are both cat owners, and honestly, that’s kind of where this whole thing started. Living with cats makes you pay closer attention to animal behavior. Like, why do they do that? And why do different species act so differently? That curiosity eventually spreads beyond your living room. Before you know it, you are watching documentaries, reading about wildlife behavior, and falling down random internet rabbit holes (thanks, algorithm) about animals you never even knew existed.

This blog grew out of that curiosity. A lot of the posts here start with simple questions about something we saw in an Instagram video. Other times it’s a weird fact about some species we wanted to understand better orr just an interesting animal we stumbled across while reading or scrolling.

Like a lot of other “animal people”, we spend time watching videos, reading articles about animals, and learning how different species survive and navigate their worlds. This blog is just a little space where we collect some of that stuff and write it down.

The images we use on this blog belong to their original owners and we don’t claim ownership of those. The only photos that are actually ours are the ones of our own cats and we would love a shoutout if you share them elsewhere.
